9th Grossmann Fantastic Film and Wine Festival Starts on Monday with Slovenian Premiere of Byzantium

The 9th edition of Grossmann Fantastic Film and Wine Festival starts on Monday, July 15 in Ljutomer, Slovenia.

The opening film will be Neil Jordan's Byzantium. Prior to the screening there will be a presentation of wines in competition, accompanied by the opening of exhibition Red Bodies by illustrator Blaž Porenta and photographer Matjaž Tančič.

This year's Guests of Honour are Italian film legends Franco Nero and Enzo G. Castellari. The main guest of the wine program is renowned wine writer Darrel Joseph. Other guests include directors Stuart Urban, Richard Raaphorst, Ricky Wood and Julian Richards and actress Jurga Jutaitė.

The feature film jury is headed by director Goran Marković, short film jury by director Milan Todorović and the music documentary jury by journalist and concert promoter Igor Vidmar.

The festival will last until Saturday, July 20 when the awards will be given at the Closing Ceremony. Apart from the film program, the festival also offers numerous events of wine program, as well as filmmaking workshop, Make-Up FX workshop, acting workshops, live concerts, Queen of the Scream contest, performances and exhibitions and Zombie Walk.

The 2013 poster was designed by Laibach Kunst (Neue Kunsthandlung). Grossmann Fantastic Film and Wine Festival is an adherent member of the European Fantastic Film Festivals Federation.
